Brothers

Sorry for my lack of blogging lately, I'm still trying to adjust to having two babes! I am a person who loves schedules and routines and having a newborn has thrown me off a little bit. Okay... It's thrown me off A LOT.

Ryder has adjusted amazingly to having a new baby in the house. I was so worried that he would feel neglected but he acts like nothing has changed. He loves helping change Gage's diapers and he even tries to help carry his car seat. He loves cuddling him, giving him kisses, playing with his hair and even pretends to wrestle with him. These pictures just melt my heart.

I'm so thankful Ryder has done well with the change, it has definitely helped us transition to two kids a little better. I would be lying if I said that having two isnt hard. It's HARD. I haven't gotten dressed in days, I ate cereal for dinner and my house is an absolute disaster. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I don't know if its just me but I think the newborn stage is so hard. I'm looking forward to less crying and more sleep in the months ahead.

I have been writing Gage's birth story and should have that as well as his newborn pictures posted soon, so keep an eye out. Have a Great week!

4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and this year was special with it being our first holiday as a family of 4. Even though we didn't plan much since Gage is so little, we had a blast just relaxing at home with our family.

I had every intention of making a big festive breakfast until I only got 3 hours of sleep and Ryder woke up with no patience whatsoever. So he settled for a not so pretty flag made out of fruit. I say I get an A for effort.....

Nap time was a must after a long afternoon of lunch and firework shopping. And when I say it was a must, I mean Tyson said he was going to put Ryder down then take Gage so I could get some rest and 30 minutes later I find him like this.

Ryder's favorite part of the day was playing with pops. He had a blast throwing them all over the driveway and was not happy when we ran out.

Gage just soaked up the fresh air in the mean time.

Pops he loved, fireworks not so much. He didn't cry but never left my shoulder and jumped with every loud noise. He did like watching them from inside though!

And now this is us today.... Mondays after holidays are the worst. But thankfully Tyson is home today so our Monday Madness isn't as bad.

I hope you all had a fun and safe holiday with your families!

Mom of 2

Thank you everyone for all your well Wishes and comments on my last post and instagram! you are all so sweet!

The best way to describe having 2 kids is terrifying yet amazing. It is definitely an adjustment and hopefully we get into a routine soon. I've always worried about Ryder having a hard time adjusting to having a new baby in the home and I never thought I'd be the one struggling with it! Ryder goes on with his day like nothing has changed and I find myself wanting to put Gage down and just love on Ryder. Stupid postpartum emotions!!

Tyson has been such a big help this last week, I've kept him so busy and lets just say he handles little to no sleep better than me. Since I feel like all I do is sit and nurse Gage it's been nice to have his help and Ryder has loved having him around. Today is his first day back at work and I'm pretty nervous about doing it all on my own. Wish us luck! It's 9am and both boys are still asleep. I'm hoping that's a good sign of a good day.

Here are some pictures of our first few days at home.

Ryder "fishing" in the front yard while I try to keep my eyes open. Sure do love this boy!

So far Gage is a total different baby than Ryder was. I had a really hard time nursing Ryder and Gage is doing pretty good with it. The only trouble I'm having is keeping him awake during a feeding. He'll nurse for a few minutes than fall asleep and I can't wake him up! He'll wake up a few minutes later still hungry. Which is why I feel like I nurse all day and night. He also likes a binky and being swaddled which Ryder hated.

All in all it's been hard so far but SO much fun! I can't wait to see these two grow together!! We are so blessed to have both these boys in our lives.
Now wish us luck that we survive until daddy gets home!
