Gage & Ryder's Christmas List

This year shopping for Ryder was so much fun. He is at the age where he has a few things that he absolutely loves and goes crazy for and I can't wait to see his face Christmas morning. A few things we have snagged for him are How do Dinosaurs Count to Ten book, this Construction Train Set,  Bath Hoop, Planes Figure Play Set and we got both him and Gage a Personalized Jalopy Car. He will also get a stocking filled with matchbox cars that I know he'll love. Not that he doesn't already have a million of them.

We kept it pretty simple for Gage since he is only 5 months old and has all of Ryder's old baby toys to play with. He is my binky baby and it's always falling out of his mouth while were out and about so I snagged this Customer Leather Pacifier Clip. This Star Teether is perfect for his little hands to grab and you can chill it to help with teething pain. I am loving wooden toys lately and Bannor Toys has become my new favorite shop. We also got him A Book of Sleep, You can never have too many books and maybe he'll eventually get the hint that he needs to sleep better. He should just be glad I didn't get him the book Go the F to sleep.

We also got this Mini Play Cube as a combined gift for both boys. There is something like this at our Post Office and Ryder goes nuts for it. It will be perfect for Gage as he grows as well.

As a family tradition, we put together a Christmas Eve box for the boys that includes some Christmas Jammies along with a few other things. I am having a hard time finding matching  jammies in both boys sizes since its a little late in the month but I am loving these PJ Sets especially since they could wear them past Christmas.

I can't believe that Christmas is in just a few short weeks! It has been freakishly warm here and it just isn't the Christmas season without snow. The boys however are loving it.

Hope you all have a great week!

Life lately

We've had a very fun and busy past couple of weeks. Tyson was off work the 2 weeks before thanksgiving and he's been home a lot more since starting his new job so we've been really enjoying having him around more. And I'm happy to have some help with the boys! Two nights ago Gage slept 13 hours straight. Yep ONE-THREE. It was the first time in 5 months that I've gotten a good night's sleep. Granted I woke up at 6 am covered in milk and a little panicked but it was so heavenly! I thought maybe it was a sign that he would start sleeping through the night until he got up every other hour last night. To top it off Ryder decided to party from midnight to 3am. All I want for Christmas is for both boys to sleep at the same time so I can take a nap! Monster #1 is sleeping but apparently Gage didn't get the memo...

Although it doesn't feel or look like Christmas outside due to this weird warm weather we have been having, we still have been in the Christmas spirit. On Black Friday we picked up Ryder his very own tree for his room. He loves it but I'm afraid for the day we have to take it down! I turned it off one night before he was all the way asleep and he flipped his lid.

We've pulled out all of our Christmas Jammie's and have dance parties to Christmas music. Although no matter what song is playing Ryder sings "shake it off! Shake it off!"  I love putting Gage in all of Ryder's old holiday clothes. I still remember Ryder being that tiny.

We took the boys to a light parade in our town the day after Thanksgiving. The weather was perfect and Ryder loved all the lights and music. Gage just eventually fell asleep in his Moby.

                Thanksgiving Day

There was no sleeping in for daddy during his time off work.

Yesterday I made a few weeks worth of baby food and let me just say Gage is not a fan. He gagged and spit out his sweet potatoes while banging his hands on his high chair. I guess we'll just stick to oatmeal and breast milk for a while.

How was that for a photo dump?? Now excuse me while I poor another cup of coffee and pray to the sleep gods the boys sleep good tonight. Happy Thursday!

02 December 2014

Hello, December!

Well Hello, December! I am so excited for this month for so many reasons. Christmas, of course is in just a few short weeks but Tyson also started his new job yesterday. For the first time in a LONG time he was home by 5:30 and we were able to sit down and eat dinner together as a family. You take stuff like that for granted until you no longer are able to do it. The boys were happy to see him and i'm so excited for his new adventure.

Saturday the boys got some pictures with Santa and it got me so excited for Christmas. Ryder was a little unsure of Santa but he didn't cry. Which is a huge improvement from last year when he screamed bloody murder out of sheer terror. Gage loved Santa. He smiled, laughed and tried to eat his beard. I love how their personalities are already so different. Ryder is my sensitive one and Gage so far is my sassy boy. Love them to pieces!

And this was Ryder last year.... poor kid was terrified and I think Santa was a little traumatized himself.

Now that it is December I am reminded of the stuff I need to get done in a few short weeks. Every year I swear i'm going to get my shopping done early and it never happens. The boys for the most part are done thanks to some Black Friday sales but that's about it. This time of year is always so busy and we are going to try and slow down and just enjoy the season. Happy December!
