One Month Old

I can't believe this little guy is already a month old! I swear I just found out I was pregnant yet at the same time I feel like he's been mine forever. He's such a good baby and only fusses if he's tired or hungry. He is slowly starting to get on a sleeping routine and actually does pretty good at night only getting up once or twice. He does struggle a little sometimes between 4am-6am and I think it's because he is still falling asleep during feedings so by then he is starving.
He nurses pretty good minus falling asleep and sometimes the flow is too much for him and he ends up choking and getting frustrated to where he doesnt want to nurse. I'm hoping he grows out of it but until then I'm pumping a lot to keep up my supply.
He loves his swing, being swaddled, has red hair that is falling out and growing back white blonde, has the biggest blue eyes, has rolled over a few times, loves his baths but cries when he gets out, weighs 11.5 pounds, is in size 2 diapers and is starting to smile.
Here are some pictures of Gage from the past month.

We sure do love this little guy! And even though some days are hard, we cannot picture life without him. He is the perfect addition to our little family. Happy one month baby boy!

  2. Hey just found ur blog from ur comment in mine. Do u try to keep any kind of schedule with Gage or do u hurt let him sleep/eat when he wants? I've tried baby wise but my 1 month old is not following along at all. Up way too often at night and I can't wake him up sometimes during day.

    1. I try to keep some kind of schedule with him but some days are better than others. Right now he usually eats every 3 hours and I try to follow a eat, play sleep schedule after every feeding which doesn't always happen because he will fall asleep when he eats. I also, like to wake him up at like 6:30 or 7 and keep him up until bedtime to get some of his energy out. He gets fussy but it think it helps him sleep. And right before bed I nurse him and give him some pumped milk in a bottle to give him a full belly before bed because he is a very sleepy eater. We do struggle at 4am-6am which is when he thinks it's time to wake up for the day! I hope you find stuff that helps and you get some sleep soon! I feel your pain :)

    2. Thanks Whitney. Sounds like we're in the same boat. For at least 2 feedings during the day (usually 1pm and 4pm) he wants to fall back asleep after eating and there have been several times I literally cannot wake him up. :) Which I feel is making it harder for him to sleep longer at night (or go back to sleep after 1am feeding). But surely it will all work out. I think the hardest thing is knowing how much easier it gets with sleep so I feel my expectations are higher with him...poor kid. Thanks. Look forward to reading your blog since we both have boys the same age.
