Life Lately

Between non stop rain, sick babies, and packing life has been a little crazy. This weekend we are closing on our house, moving and it is also Ryder's 3rd birthday so we have a busy few days ahead of us.  Busy is good right??

Gage is starting to feel better and we will follow up soon with his ruptured ear drum. What a little trooper he was! I'll be doing an 11 month update on him soon, even though it will be late.

Last Friday we went and toured a new temple nearby. It was so beautiful and when we first pulled in Ryder yelled "Disneyland!!"

These cute boys dressed for Memorial Day. I'm just glad it stopped raining for 10 minutes for a quick picture and an ice cream. Ryder keeps saying "the sun coming out soon??" Yes buddy I sure hope so!

Our house now has a foundation! It makes all this packing and moving so much more bearable now that we can see process on our new home. And check out that view!

Hope you are all having a good week so far! We're hoping the weekend comes fast and that its full of sunshine!!

Snack Time With Nuby

Gage is at that age where if we are eating then he wants to be eating the exact same thing. No, he doesn't want it cut up into little pieces on his high chair where he can safely eat it while I tend to other things, he wants the whole piece of food like Ryder. Which is why I love the Nuby Garden Fresh Nibbler Mesh Feeder . I can put whole pieces of fruit or veggies in it and let him have at it without worrying about him choking. It's a favorite at snack time and putting cold fruit in it during teething is a life saver. His favorite foods we put in it are strawberries, apples and pears.

I love that it comes with a cover so you can keep the net clean and the food covered. I also like that the mesh net can easily come off to clean and to replace. I find it easiest to wash it by hand instead of the dishwasher.

Nuby Garden Fresh Nibbler Feeder
- Introduce first foods without the risk of choking
- Squeeze and twist locking system
- Hygenic sealing cover keeps reusable mesh net clean and food fresh
- Easy gripe handle sized for little hands
- BPA FREE
- Freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe

Available at Amazon.

It's Pajama time!

So I totally started out this post with "Happy Friday Everyone!" really....its Wednesday....nowhere near Friday. This whole moving, packing, cleaning, organizing, sick kids, mastitis, house selling and house building has officially fried my brain. Wish us luck that we survive this move :)

So now that warmer weather is here it has me looking for some summer jammies for the boys. I don't know what it is, but little babes running around in shorty short jammies are my favorite. Must be the delicious leg rolls! So I rounded up a few of my favorite Summer jams to get you ready for the season!

One // Two // Three // Four // Five // Six

Hanna Andersson jammies are my all time favorite but they can be hard on the bank account. I got lucky one time and our local Costco was selling them for a steal so I made sure I stocked up.

If you didn't notice, stripes are totally my jam lately. My favorite striped jammies of all time are from Stay + Co but sadly their shop is now closed and Gage's huge thighs are busting out of them.

Baby Gap is killing it right now with their Girl Jammies that it almost makes me want a girl!.....almost.

And if you love jammies like we do, grab the Pajama Time! book to read for bedtime!

Happy almost Friday!

Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes

Nothing makes the Monday morning blues better like a stack of hot pancakes, you all know I love me some pancakes! Today I am sharing my favorite recipe and it is so easy you'll never go back to pre made batter again {gag!} We eat these a ton, like a couple times a week. They are so fluffy, melt in your mouth and you can add your favorite berries, syrups or even chocolate chips to switch it up a little bit.

1 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk {sometimes I add a little more if the consistency isn't quite right}
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
In another bowl mix together buttermilk, vanilla, egg and oil.
Combine wet and dry ingredients but don't over mix.
Pour desired amount of batter {I use an ice cream scoop} on to hot skillet.

Hope these brighten your Monday a little bit! xo

Our {sick} Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Man am I happy it's the weekend, to say we had a rough week is an understatement. Ryder caught a cold Monday and by Tuesday me and Gage were sick too. Ryder was on the mend pretty quickly but by Wednesday night Gage was in really rough shape. I put him to bed at 7:30pm and he slept until 9:30pm when he woke up screaming and screamed the rest of the night. He was literally awake from 9:30pm to 6:00am the next morning. Around midnight I loaded him in the car to drive around and calm him down. I contemplated taking him to the hospital but he relaxed in the car and I didn't want to take him in if he was just not feeling well. He had a bad cold and 4 teeth coming in so I figured there wasn't anything they could do anyway. He didn't fall asleep in the car and I just let him scream on my chest all night until he finally fell asleep in the morning. Being sick and being up for 24 hours does not mix well. The next day he was still super fussy and I noticed infection coming out of his ear so we ran to the doctor where they told me he had a double ear infection and his right ear was so infected that his ear drum had ruptured. I was told to bring him back for a few follow up appointments where they would see how it was healing and that he might need to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. My mommy heart broke. I should've followed my instinct and taken him in during his fit in the middle of the night. We had no idea that had happened and just figured he was in pain because of his teeth. So poor Gage has a ruptured ear drum, runny nose, red throat, double ear infection, yucky lungs and 4 teeth breaking through. I am so thankful for modern medicine and he is already acting a little better this morning.

So today my Friday favorites are all about products that are great for sick kiddos and are things we use all the time.

Crane Drop Shape Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier  We actually use this a lot on a daily basis. I love that you control the air flow and the direction that it goes. It's great for helping stuffy noses and dry throats, plus the design is really cute.

Little Noses Saline Spray/Drops these are a life saver for stuffy noses and makes it a lot easier for suction.

Boogie Wipes  these are my new favorite! They are great for wiping noses without irritating the skin. I use them when The boys noses start getting red from wiping so much. They are super soft and really thick.

California Baby Bubble Bath Aromatherapy This bubble bath is perfect for soothing sick babies. It is eucalyptus scented and helps with clear stuffed noses and is very relaxing.

Young Living Peppermint, Lavender, Lemon and Thieves Essential Oils We also use these everyday but they are definitely are a must with sick kids. We use peppermint and lemon to break fevers and diffuse it with lavender to help them sleep. And of course thieves to get rid of the nasty germs.

Have a happy and healthy weekend everyone!

Life Lately

I hope all you mama's had a great Mother's Day! Birth moms, moms of angel babies, moms who have lost moms of their own, adoption moms, or future moms patiently waiting for their babies, you are all amazing and are definitely worth celebrating!
For my Mother's Day, Tyson woke up early with the boys so I could sleep in which was so nice! You know your a mom when sleeping in until 8:30 is amazing. Ryder woke me up with flowers while yelling "Happy birthday mama!" So close kid. Then we headed out for a nice big breakfast in our jammies. Pancakes are definitely a way to my heart.

Life has been so crazy the past few weeks. We sold our house, which is really good news except we only have until the end of the month to pack and find a place to live until our new house is being built. So we have spent every waking minute packing and moving most of our things into a storage unit. I forgot how awful moving is! On top of that both boys have colds and Gage has 3 more teeth breaking through making our move extra hard. We are exhausted, stressed and feeling rushed but we are oh so thankful.

So because we are moving soon, you may notice a gap in blogging for a few days while we move and get settled into a rental. We are hoping the move goes smoothly with the boys and doesn't disrupt their schedules too much. Ryder is already saying he is sad to be leaving his home so it might be a little hard on him but Hopefully we can all adjust quickly. Packing our first home has been so emotional and it's definitely going to be hard to leave.

But in other news, we broke ground on our new home! It definitely makes our things much easier being able to see progress on our future home.

Other than packing, we've been spending most of our time outside {when it hasn't been raining}, going for walks on our favorite river trail, and just watching these two play their hearts out in last few weeks of being in our home.

I've got a super fun giveaway coming soon on my Instagram @whitrichins so be sure to keep an eye out!  Have a great week everyone!

Ryder's Turning THREE!!

How is my baby already turning 3 in just a few short weeks?? My mama heart aches that this little guy is not a baby anymore but at the same time, I love seeing the little person he is becoming.

Dear Ryder,
You are growing up so fast that I just can't handle it! But your daddy and I love watching you learn new things and change everyday.

You are the sweetest soul I've ever known. We were worried about how you'd adjust welcoming Gage into our family but you adjusted like nothing had changed, maybe you remember him from Heaven? You share your toys so nicely with Gage, help him eat his food and show him everything he needs to know about bugs, cars and all things boy. You call him Bam Bam and if he is crying you say "don't cry bam bam. PEEK A BOO!! All better now?" you were definitely made to be a big brother and I hope you guys are always best friends.

You love bugs, cars, monster trucks, fishing, tools and every kind of animal. You absolutely adore your daddy and you are definitely his mini me. You love going for rides in daddy's truck and riding daddy like a horse pretending you're a cowboy. Your favorite place to be is at either of your grandparents house and you ask on a daily basis to go see them. You love ice cream, yogurt, toast, pasta, strawberries, grapes and root beer floats. Your favorite colors are blue and green, your favorite movie is Big Hero 6 and you love your dog Cash so much. We call you Ry Ry or bug and at times we call you Wreck it Ryder :) you are still attached to your lovey, you can't do anything with out it. Your dad and I joke that it'll be in your backpack when you are in Junior High.

You love when I take pictures of you saying "cheese!!" anytime I get the camera out.  You would be outside all day long if I let you and you love playing with dirt and rocks. You are so sensitive that you cry during sad commercials and you can be shy at times but you have such a big and sweet personality.

You say the funniest things, have a big imagination, and you give the best hugs and kisses. We love you Ryder! You'll always be our baby no matter how big you get.

Love, Mama and Dada

Bedtime with Nuby

Bedtime with Gage is usually pretty simple. We do bath, lotion, Jammie's, read some books and a feeding. However, most of the time he won't go to sleep unless I nurse him to sleep which makes it really hard to leave him with a baby sitter or Tyson. If he wakes up at night he has to be nursed or he wont go back to sleep and it is definitely not a good habit. So I was really excited to try the Nuby Classic Oval Softflex Pacifier . The things I love most about this binky is the front of it is soft instead of hard like most binky's, so it really does move and flex to mimick a mother's nipple. I also love that it is the same shape all around so Gage can put it in himself without putting it upside down like some binky's. It also has teething nubs on the base of it to soothe sore gums and I really love the colors it comes in.

Soft Flex Classic Oval Oscillating Pacifier
- 0-6 months and 6 months +
- Classic oval shaped baglet flexes, stretches and moves like a mother's nipple
- teething nubs around the base of the baglet massages and soothes sore gums
- fun bright colors
- BPA FREE

Available at these retailers

- Ross
- DD's Discounts
- Baby Depot at Burlington

Gage only gets a binky when he sleeps and having an alternative to nursing has been great as we try to wean him from his night time habit. Sweet dreams baby Gage!
